Since October 1, 2026, Shopee Brazil charges a fixed fee of R$ 4.50 per item, up from R$ 4, on products priced up to R$ 79.99, according to Brazilian trade press. The 20% commission and the higher price brackets did not change. Cheap items make up most of the platform’s sales, so the increase reaches a lot of sellers.
The fee table by price bracket
Only the fixed fee in the lowest bracket moved. Central do Varejo, which cites Shopee’s Seller Center as checked on October 14, lists the table for sellers registered with a business tax ID (CNPJ):
| Item price | Commission | Fixed fee per item |
|---|---|---|
| Up to R$ 79.99 | 20% | R$ 4.50 |
| R$ 80 to R$ 99.99 | 14% | R$ 16 |
| R$ 100 to R$ 199.99 | 14% | R$ 20 |
| R$ 200 and above | 14% | R$ 26 |
BP Money reported the increase on September 22. It is the second fee change of the year: Brazil Journal wrote in February that Shopee was dropping its R$ 100 cap on commissions, with the bracket structure above starting in March.
What four sales cost now
The extra R$ 0.50 is small in absolute terms and large as a share of a cheap item. These are our calculations from the table, ignoring shipping programs, taxes and affiliate commissions:
- R$ 20 item: R$ 4 commission plus R$ 4.50 fixed, R$ 8.50 total, or 42.5% of the price. It used to be R$ 8, or 40%.
- R$ 30 item: R$ 6 plus R$ 4.50, R$ 10.50, or 35%. It used to be R$ 10, or 33.3%.
- R$ 50 item: R$ 10 plus R$ 4.50, R$ 14.50, or 29%.
- R$ 79.99 item: R$ 16 plus R$ 4.50, R$ 20.50, or 25.6%.
A seller moving 200 low-priced items a month pays R$ 100 more per month without touching a single listing.
An analyst’s estimate of the platform-wide effect
BP Money cites Itau BBA, which estimates that the under-R$ 80 bracket makes up about 60% of Shopee’s gross merchandise volume in Brazil and about 90% of units sold. Assuming an average ticket near R$ 30 in that bracket, the bank calculates that Shopee’s effective take rate rises from roughly 33.3% to 35%, about 170 basis points. That is an analyst’s estimate, not a figure Shopee published.
The cliff at R$ 80
This is where the table catches careless pricing. At R$ 80 the commission drops from 20% to 14%, but the fixed fee jumps from R$ 4.50 to R$ 16.
- R$ 79.99 item: R$ 20.50 in fees, leaving R$ 59.49 before product cost, shipping and taxes.
- R$ 80 item: R$ 11.20 commission plus R$ 16, R$ 27.20 in fees, leaving R$ 52.80.
One cent more on the price costs R$ 6.70 more in fees. If you sell near that line, choose deliberately: hold at R$ 79.99, or raise the price enough to cover the jump. At R$ 100 the fees are R$ 14 plus R$ 20, R$ 34 or 34% of the price, so the burden eases proportionally only well above R$ 80.
Individual sellers
Central do Varejo, citing the consultancy Mamba Digital, says an individual seller (registered with a personal tax ID, CPF) with more than 450 orders in 90 days pays R$ 3 extra per item. The report gives no separate table for CPF sellers, so check your own account before changing prices.
How this compares with the US marketplaces
American sellers are used to a percentage plus a small fixed amount, but the shape differs. According to our eBay selling fees guide, most eBay categories charge 13.6% of the total sale plus $0.30 per order up to $10 and $0.40 above, so an $8 item with free shipping pays about 17% in fees. Our Etsy fees guide puts the cost of a $25 sale near 11.3%. Shopee’s fee on a R$ 20 item, at 42.5%, shows how much heavier the fixed fee is on cheap goods in Brazil. The currencies differ, so compare the percentages, not the amounts.
Four changes to a price spreadsheet
- Redo margins for everything under R$ 80 with R$ 4.50. A sheet still using R$ 4 is off by 50 centavos per sale.
- Rethink bundles. Two R$ 30 items sold separately pay R$ 21 in fees. One R$ 60 kit pays R$ 12 plus R$ 4.50, or R$ 16.50. Check what your category allows.
- Test both sides of R$ 80 for any product priced near it.
- Verify in Seller Center. The numbers above come from press reports citing Shopee’s seller pages in October 2026, and your account table is what counts.

Shopee did not explain the reason for the change in anything we could open, nor whether other brackets will move. No official page with the effective date turned up either, so October 1 comes from the press reports. Sellers who depend on cheap items should recheck the platform’s notices before Black Friday.
