Bottom line: as of October 2026, most eBay categories charge 13.6% of the total sale plus a per-order fee of $0.30 or $0.40, and the first 250 listings each month are free.
The final value fee is the percentage eBay takes when an item sells. For most categories the page lists 13.6% on the part of the sale up to $7,500, and 2.35% on the portion above $7,500.
Each order carries a fixed fee on top of the percentage: $0.30 if the order total is $10.00 or less, and $0.40 if it is over $10.00.
The page says the first 250 listings each month are free, then $0.35 per listing. For a small seller listing a few dozen items, that means the listing fee is often zero.
If you are not using eBay International Shipping, the page lists an additional 1.65% of the total sale when the delivery or buyer address is outside the US.
These are our calculations, using the rates above for a most-categories item with no sales tax.
